Welcome to Advanced Wireless Network Research Lab
IEEE 802.11 WLANs with the Distributed Coordination Function (DCF) is the dominant wireless medium to access the Internet due to its low cost and easy development. IEEE 802.11-based multi-hop wireless Ad Hoc, mesh, and backhaul networks are promising wireless technologies to access the Internet. Moreover, the emergence of broadband wireless networks has been spurred by the development of standard as IEEE 802.16. Therefore, IEEE 802.11 and 802.16 are being deployed as a solution to extending the reach of the last-mile access to the internet, using a multi-hop configuration. Advanced Wireless Networks Research Lab (A_WIN) Lab is aimed to provide reliable and efficient MAC protocols for Vehicular Ad Hoc networks, differentiated service in 802.16 wireless networks, QoS integration of IEEE 802.16 and 802.11 networks, and efficient fair resource allocation in multi-hop wireless networks.
